Art Deco 89 was a costume jewelry company that came and went in a blink of an eye. Only open for one year, the company manufactured high-quality reproductions of noted art deco jewelry masterpieces.
Started by industry veteran Joseph who worked for Coro, Inc. as a division head and vice president. He joined Carnegie jewelry company in 1963 as general manager, eventually purchasing the firm from Carnegie’s heirs, in 1969.
During his years in business, Joseph was able to acquire the rights to iconic designs from the Art Deco era which he reproduced under the Art Deco 89 brand. Unfortunately, the cost to produce these high-quality pieces was unsustainable. The brief existence of this line of jewelry makes the pieces rare and highly collectible.
