- Made from Melusine wool, a silky long-haired felt used for hats.
- Distinctive pinched crown for a flattering look.
- Matching red bow with aurora borealis rhinestone decoration.

Pinehurst was a major maker of mid-priced women’s hats during the 1920s – 1960s. Thalhimer’s was a major department store chain in Richmond, Virginia, later acquired by Macy’s.
