Return – Refund Policy


Buying unique items online requires a leap of faith. We know; we are buyers too.  Our promise is to make sure you are happy with every purchase.

    • MadgesHatbox offers only quality vintage and designer resale items.
    • If there are minor defects they are noted in the description and photos.
    • In the unlikely event you receive an item that is significantly not-as-described or was damaged during transit, we want to make it right.
    • Since you are ordering through our secure checkout your safety is assured and privacy is respected.

If there is an issue and you wish to initiate a return, please email us at [email protected] within 10 days of receiving the shipment.  We will contact you ASAP to resolve the situation through a return, store credit, or repair.

RETURNS – REFUNDS

Madge wants happy customers. if you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will refund your purchase price, not including shipping costs. Madge must be notified of a return request within 10 days of receipt of merchandise. Merchandise must be returned within 30 days of receipt in original condition, with all tags still attached,  Refunds will not be issued until returned merchandise is received and inspected for damage.

Please choose carefully, remember, many of these pieces are over 70 years old. For vintage clothing. please use the sizing information provided to compare to a similar item in your closet. Flaws are pointed out in each description to the best of our ability. All items have been previously used. No warranties are made on how long these pieces will last or their resale value. If something jiggles loose during shipping, such as rhinestones or buttons, Madge is able to repair it.  Just let us know. 

 

DAMAGED SHIPMENTS

If items are damaged in transit Madge will issue a full refund once the customer has furnished photos of the damaged items and also of the shipping box. Photos of the damaged items and box are necessary to file an insurance claim. Buyers may be required to fill out an insurance company affidavit before a refund is issued.

 

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

If this is an international order, please understand that any customs, duties, taxes, or fees assessed by your home country are your responsibility and are not refundable. Please check with your customs authority to understand these charges.  For our customers in the  European Union, effective July 1, 2021, EU members are charged VAT taxes based on the specific country’s tax rates at the time of importation. These charges are paid by the buyer at the time that customs duties are assessed.

PLEASE NOTE NO REFUNDS FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WHO REFUSE PACKAGES DUE TO CUSTOM FEES OR ANY OTHER REASON.
